Ten Years of Daily Arsenal

Many, many years ago, on one social media platform or another, fountain pen geeks (and, really, EDC enthusiasts in general) would post what they had with them each day. They’d descibe their pens, inks, and even notebooks. It might be just a list, or a picture. It’s not common anymore, but it was fun at the time.

I made a habit of also keeping my own list of pens I have and the inks they are filled with. Day to day, I typically have a fountain pen (for most uses) and a ball pen (for some special situations, and as a backup). Each set would be recorded in a pair of rows in a section in my Work Notebook. I finished a page of it today:

It has served little practical purpose other than a mild curiosity. I’ve used it to figure out what ink is in a pen, and once or twice what pen I had on a given day. It’s also helped me do a better job rotating among my collection. Mostly, it’s been a great just-for-fun thing.

Periodically, I’d move the oldest pages to my archive notebook, to keep it from overwhelming my work notebook. This has proven to be a handy reference, as I’ve been digitizing my old journals. What was I using then. In doing so, I noticed a while back that today, November 15, 2023, marks ten years of my Daily Arsenal log.

Yes, I made a point of using the same pens I did ten years ago.
